Laser, printing and etching processes

Surfaces

Possibilities of customisation options.

Gronbach has a wide range of metallic and hybrid printing processes for metal coatings and for customising appliance fronts, side panels and other components.
We integrate coloured structures even in base materials that have a completely different original colour.

Supplier metal etching

The etching process enables, for example, a 3D lettering or a 3D logo made of the same alloy as the carrier material, but with a completely different look. In the subsequent anodising process, these three-dimensional designs are coated to be particularly resistant to chemical and mechanical stress. The combination of matt and shiny effects promises special aesthetics.

Supplier, company laser engraving on metal, metal laser engraving and metal engraving

The inscription of surfaces with the help of solid-state lasers is the technology used for the depiction of logos, symbols and lettering on stainless steel or aluminium. It is particularly suitable for all visual representations of operating functions and branding on the carrier material. The desired contour is achieved by ablating the material layers accordingly.

Laser marking or laser engraving is carried out on a 250 x 250 mm plane field for part sizes up to 1300 x 600 mm.

UV printing, screen printing and pad printing for metals

Using screen printing, pad printing and UV printing, a wide range of printing solutions can be realised for metals, metal foils and plastics, e.g. raised or transition-free logos, symbols and lettering for fronts, side panels and components.

The UV printing process was specially developed by us to meet the high requirements of the cross-cut and Ericson grip test and in order to guarantee long-lasting use. Likewise, we can print directly onto the base material using digital printing technology with four or six colours.

Mechanical finishing

We can grind, brush, polish or blast metal surfaces to a wide variety of degrees of fineness. Turning or milling the metals is also possible. Due to the automated, robot-controlled treatment of the surfaces, every processing is 100% reproducible.
Our manufacturing technologies include

  • Brushing, grinding
  • Blasting
  • (Laser) polishing

Anodising

We have a factory-owned anodising plant that can support you with the following finishing processes:

  • Organic or electrolytic anodisation
  • Partial / selective anodising
  • Anodising of already back-moulded components

In addition, various forms of pre- and post-treatment are possible, for example brushing, grinding, blasting, polishing, special pickling and lasering.

Manufacturer of metal and plastic components joined together via back molding

Back-injection of metal and metal foils

For the required substructure of metal components and metal foils, we back-inject them with the required plastics.
We design and manufacture the plastic injection moulding tools required for this ourselves in order to avoid distortion due to shrinkage and different linear expansions. Furthermore, we integrate the desired electronics or lighting elements during back injection moulding.

Joining and bonding technologies

We join components using a wide variety of methods. In bonding, we use liquid adhesives, adhesive tapes and also adhesive die-cuts, which we apply manually or robotically. Optionally, different types of pre-treatment are possible, including plasma, primer, scarfing or pyrosil as well as different rapid curing methods (UV light, infrared, heat radiation).

  • 1C adhesives with manual and robot-assisted application
  • 2C adhesives in robot systems with high-end dispensing technology
  • Adhesive tapes with manual or robot-assisted application
  • Punched adhesive substrates with special systems for perfect positioning and pressing
